Face of the Other Day

I wanted to try something new, I hadn't used my Going Bananas e/s in a while so I thought I'd take it out of hiding, as well as my Jewel Blue e/s. I know the line of the Jewel Blue isn't blended too well, but I was going for a non-blended look if you know what I mean. I didn't want the two colors to mix together.... I kind of liked it.

FACE
Strobe Cream
Armani Micro-fil Powder
Prism Blush (I think)

EYES
UDPP
Beige-ing Shadestick
Going Bananas e/s - all over lid & inner lower lashline
Jewel Blue e/s - crease & outer lower lashline
Claire de Lune e/s - highlight
Prussian Powerpoint Pencil - upper lashline
Photograveure Technakohl Liner - waterline
Shiseido Mascara Base
Shiseido Lifting Mascara
Porcelaine/Browning Brow Shader

LIPS
Smith's Strawberry Lip Balm

Today's Face :)

For some reason, this looks sort of reminds me of some Mi Lady FOTDs I've seen on Specktra. It's not exactly the same shade, but it reminds me of it.... maybe I'm just obsessed with Mi Lady, I plan to get it this Thursday *sighs*.... in any case, someone asked me what my fave eyeshadow was & I have to say Mythology e/s is my fave. I think it's such a beautiful color even though I don't wear it too often.

  1. i love your tutorials! they are all so detailed. I've been lurking around here for a while now so i thought i'd say hello.

i really liked your review on the mac brushes and i was wondering if you ever buy your brushes from ebay? they are really cheap there, but i don't know if they are authentic. have you by any chance bought them off of ebay before?

  2. All of your looks for today are cute and you did a good job recreating the mcqueen look!!! I really like the mythology pictures. I was thinking about getting rushmetal this weekend(well ordering it online), so that would probably make a good sub until or if I get the mythology.

  3. Great looks Stephie! I love all three hehe. So creative, you make me want to go out and buy those shadows just so I can try it out!

Oh, btw, how are you liking that strobe cream? I've been eyeing it for a while..

I love Going Bananas/ Jewel Blue with the Prussian eyeliner... such a unique ( and daring ) combination... Like, it wouldn't occur to me to do those colors together but it looks so great!

And I totally like the "unblended look" sometimes. It is cool to have the colors be totally distinct sometimes.

  5. Thanks for the tutorial...another beautiful one! You make it look so easy =)

I have a quick question...do you clean your brushes before and after each application or do you only deep clean once a week or so?

  6. hey stephie~ thx for ur tips and tutorials! luv them all!

just thought i'd drop by and see if u know the answer to this... i saw an eyeliner pencil at mac probably back in october... it was black with a little bit of shiny silver metallic sparkles (if u know wat i mean) to it... i have no idea why i didnt pick it up the first time i saw it; now i wanted to buy it, but i totally forgot wat the name was!! would u happen to know which one i'm talking about?

  7. I remember that McQueen look! I loved it then and I love it now. I'd love to replicate this, but I don't see the point in buying those paint pots since I probably wouldn't use it enough. :(

  8. one word to describe these looks is HAWT!!!!! hehehe
i LOVE the first two on u. It literally make your eyes POP!! u look gorgeous as always. I'm not that anal when it comes 2 looking at fotos and the e/s are not well blended...it could looked beta, but ar well it still looks good!
I'm so envious of ppl liek u who can just draw stuff on their waterline. When i try 2 do it the pigments never goes on smoothly *gggrrr*. I hope its just what i'm using (which is cheap pencil stuff). Cos i realised when u put eyeliner pencil or sumfing like that (not f/l) it always goes on smooth.

  12. Lovely tutorials! :]

My fave are the last two... I don't know why. Maybe it's because I've always liked the look of light shadow on the inside of the lid and darker shadow on the crease/v of the lid? :P

I bought a dupe of MAC's Legend from a mineral makeup company, haven't tried it yet... but you've inspired me to test it out today. :P

Have a great day and keep up with the great tuts!

  14. Hey girl, love the bright colored makeup you got going here. To be honest, I love the look you did way better than what the MAC artist did. Yours is way more blended :D

  17. i'm wondering how do you like Strobe Cream? i kinda want to try it but i have normal skin, so idk if it would be too shimmery.

  18. Thanks for answering my e/s question! But wow I had never heard of that color(mythology) its gooorgeous. I really loved the goin bananas and jewel blue e/s's togther it was really smart and the nonblended look is really pretty the blue seems like its outlining the yellow and drawing much more attention to it. =]

i want to see your makeup colleection =[[

  19. Stephie, I know what you mean about not wanting to blend some colors, especially pretty colors. Sometimes, I'll do my eye makeup and it will pain me to have to blend the colors because they look so cute unblended.

    Love all the looks.

  20. I hate flashes on digital cameras. Your foundation can match your skin to a t, and it still will look too light! Don't you hate that?

  21. I love all of your looks. I think the going bananas look is awesome and looks cute on you. I wish i could rock colors like that.

I used tutorial femme gold and black as an inspiration for my look today. I used bare study, woodwinked and plumage instead, and I like it. Thanks for the inspiration!

  22. Hi! I just wanted to say despite the fact that I don't wear makeup and the only thing I have is a lip balm =P, I really enjoy watching your tutorials. Despite the stereotype I think makeup is art and you are a great artist. ^^ I love your attitude and sincerity, so I just wanted to tell you that you are doing a great job! (I admire the fact that you're tackling on a job and business school XD). I was just wondering, I have a semi formal coming up and I want to try putting make up on. >o< Something not so bold but still makes a statement. My dress will either be red or white. And yep, I'm asian with very "asian" eyes. =) Thanks again! "Peace!"
