Off The Radar Is Off The Chain!

First of all, I LOVE Krispy Kreme Blueberry Donuts!!!!! Hahaha random...

In regards to my last post, I spoke about one seller who I do trust, and plan to do business with again in the future is with Hoanganhcali. His/her products are authentic. I've bought a few shadows from them, and yes 100% the real deal. Also I would buy from people like Panacea who I think is selling pigments or something.

Anyways, I got an email from one lady who asked me to take a look at a brush set she was thinking about buying on Ebay. Supposedly, it's a 7 piece MAC brush set with a brush roll. Now in my opinion, this is absolutely a fake. Here's the original item. When has MAC ever had a 7 piece brush set? And when did the 168 and 120 have red/black bristles? It's a fake. At least I think it is. If in doubt, don't do it!

*********************************************************

So like I was saying, I'm LAAAHUUUUVING Off The Radar Pigment. It's gorgeous! I didn't think orange would look good on me, but I think because my skin is more on the warm side, it fits right in hehehe :) I wore this today....

FACE
Studio Finish Concealer
Strobe Cream
Armani Micro-fil Powder
Global Glow MSF - contour
Whim Blush

EYES
Porcelaine/Browning Brow Shader
Stillife Paint
Off The Radar p/m - all over lid
Smut e/s - crease and outer v
Your Ladyship p/m - highlight
Smolder Eye Kohl - smudged on upper and lower lashline
Shiseido Mascara Base
Shiseido Lifting Mascara

LIPS
Moonbathe l/g

*********************************************************

On Asian Beauty Blog, Rose made a challenge to wear colors you wouldn't normally wear mixed together. I kind of cheated because I've seen people use this look on sunset looks, but I have never worn it together, prolly because I didn't own these colors until just recently :D Anyways, I purposelly went overboard with the eyes, cheeks, and lips.... I wanted more of a sunset-burned face. I would totally wear out the eye makeup, not with the lips and cheeks though. Maybe the lips... not sure yet, but I like it!

I did it late last night, so my shape is all f-ed up. I need to fix the lighting in my room for real y'all!

FACE
Armani Micro-fil Powder
Frankly Scarlet Blush

EYES
Flammable Paint - base all over lid and just over the crease
Shimmersand Shadestick - base for lower lashline
Frankly Scarlet Blush - all over lid
Off The Radar p/m - in crease
Fab & Flashy e/s - lower lashline
Engraved Powerpoint - waterline
Blacktrack Fluidline - upper lashline
Covergirl Lash Exact
#34 Lashes

LIPS
Brick-O-La l/s

Anyways, I've gotten tons and tons of comments about the Pro Card, and I'm going to make a video response on it tomorrow. I tried to record it around 10pm but again my lighting sucks. So I'll post it tomorrow! Have a good night y'all! Peace &

  1. Hi Stephie, thanks for stopping by my blog :)
Off the Radar pigment looks great on you. I'd have to try it out when I stop by MAC next week. Never really thought to use orange on myself before. It'll be something new :P

  2. Wow nice! I like the eyeshadow done on the sunset look! Yea, you are right about the blush being heavy though....but the make up for the eyes are gorgeous! =)

  3. You are so right about orange looking good on you. It looks fab! And its so cute how you match your makeup with what you wear :) Hmm, the 2nd look is kinda 'Chinese Opera-ish' tho...no offense(?), but that's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it.

  5. Hi stephie!!
    i know u love comments
But i gotta say i love the colours. But if i saw u in person i think that you have to many red tones and its overdone.

ALSO I LOVE MOD DOLL soooooo much thanks for sharing it =)

I cant wait for more updates

  6. Yay Stephie!! I told you that Off The Radar totally rocks!! When I buy it I thought it wouldn't look good on me either but I was suprisedhow awesome it looks ( I'm warm toned too, NC25), and and it's awesome as blush too!
The only problem I have is that I cannot find another e/s to pair it, but I think I need Smut lol :-)

  7. The second FOTD is awesome! And besides which I think any color would suit you because you'd know how to apply them to make them rock! :)

The brush set is most definitely fake. I had a look at a thread in Specktra that said that MAC doesn't sell full-sized brush sets (i.e. not the SE ones) anymore due to people breaking up the set to return them piecemeal at the stores to have exchanged. And you're right about the color of the powder brushes. Who knows where those red/black hairs came from. (Eew, don't go there. XD)

  8. I like the piggie on you. It looks like a great fall color. I've never seen MAC brushes in a set like that, so I'd err on the safe side and not get it if I were that lady.

  13. Hi Stephie! Your blog's great! I was watching your response video and I was wondering if you could share how you do your hair? It's like straight, smooth and lush but it doesn't look poker-rebonded straight if you get what I mean. Is your hair rebonded or chemically straightened before? Thanks! =)

  15. Hi, Stephie.
i like that orange eyeshadow tutorial, looks amazing on you. i think you're good at what you do, and keep up the good job. i just started using MAC cosmetic and i think all your tutorial really helps me what product is good/bad and stuff.
i just had a quick question. i have real bad dark circles, and i think its hereditary cuz my mom and her sister have it too, but mine is like super dark, i've tried tons of products but none worked. i've been using hylexin for past 2 months and i dont see a bit of change, i totally regret buying that crap. too expensive and didnt work for crap. but i was wondering the concealer you use from mac, would it be good for my kinda dark circles?
p.s. sorry didnt mean take all that space. i try n keep it short next time. =]

  21. Hi Stephie...I stumbled onto your blog from Nessasarymakeup's blog (Vanessa). You have great blogs and tutorials! Keep doing what you do!!

Anyway, I had a question about brush cleaners..I've been looking around at the difference of brush cleaners on the market and is MAC's brush cleaner really the best??

I just bought Make up For Ever Professional brush cleaner from Sephora and just wanted to get your opinion in brush cleaners in general. Thanks a bunch!!

  23. hey steph!

[ replying to your ebay post ]

. . i believe the seller with the fake products are usually the ones to post photos of the product from a name brand sites. and obviously, the seller with the same photos being display are usually the fakes ones also. =) that's just my two cent.

but anywho.. great tutorials. you're very pretty!

  24. Ouhh.. I love that pigment on you!!! So gorgeous.. oh and thanks to YOU I went out and bought the strobe cream! I love it too! Thanks em! =) I just got doing makeup on someone who's going to a bachlorette party tonight and I used it on her.. loved it! I'm doing makeup on sunday for a wedding on the bride-to-be and some of her bridesmaids. I'm glad I got this cream! It's well worth the $40 bucks! I really need to hop on that pro card! Just haven't gotten around to it yet.. Hope you have a great weekend!

  25. Stephie - the second fotd looks absolutely stunning on you!!!! OMG. You are so gorgeous, your eyes and lips are beautiful! I wish I had your makeup skills - did you ever take formal makeup lessons or is it just a natural talent? Anyway, I can't wait until more of your tutorials. You update so often and you also attend school - excellent multitasker I must say! :)

  26. Hey Stephie!

Krispy Kreme sounds really good right now! Too bad the one in my town was shut down. :(

Anyways, Off the Radar looks awesome on you! I'm pretty sure if I wore that I'd look like I was on drugs or something. LOL

One question for ya: where do you get your Giorgio Armani Micro-fil Powder? I went online to Sephora and they don't seem to have it. =/

Thanks for all the blogs and videos. I'm lovin' them, especially the smokey purple tutorial!

  27. by the way, youve like influenced me to go out and buy a junk load of makeup. =X

i was wondering if you reuse your falsies?

  30. I totally hate eBay..I bought a Sex and the City boxed set on there, and they took the money and never sent the set..I was so sad! I got my money back but you're right about the hassle..so not worth it. About the brushes, I think that I'd rather buy it from the MAC store..seriously with all those crooks out there, it's just not worth the $8-$10 that you save if you buy from eBay.

Anyway! The blending on the looks you did are fab ^^ I don't like the colors much, for me but fantastic job anyway Stephie! Can't wait for your upcoming videos

  31. faux fashionista: lol no offense taken :) i actually like that name.... if i wear it again, i'll prolly title it that :D a lot of people tell me i match what i wear to my makeup... i think i do it subconsciously because i never think of if it's the same color hehehe

macfong: i agree with you :) i did it for a challenge so i purposely went over the top :) when i do wear it out, i'll definitely blend it lower and keep it toned down more :)

sophia: thank you so much for the heads up on it.... i'm in love :D

jane: lol yeah let's not think about it :D

alexandra: hello! i've heard of romania but i don't quite know the location besides it being in europe... but i'll definitely be looking into your country, i hope one day to travel all over so i won't be so ignorant like i am now :)

dianatan: hahahahaha lol you made my day :D i was watching sex and the city and that was the second to the last episode. the scary guy is alexandr patrovsky (sp?), the russian guy who was dating carrie... i'm a sex and the city lover :)

anonymous: i've never had my hair rebonded or straightened. i just put in my bed head leave-in conditioner in the evening after i shower and let my hair air dry. then i straighten in the morning. i must admit though i think the change in weather helped! its not so hot, so my hair isn't all frizzy...

sweetxtornado: it may be hereditary, i'm not really sure. however, i do think the studio finish concealer would help cover up the darkness. also, there are a new undereye brightener called studio lights... it's LE from MAC and supposedly it's supposed to brighten your eyes. when i go check it out i'll be sure to fill you in!

stephanie: hey girl! i have only used MAC brush cleanser, so i can't compare it to others. i love MAC's because it gently cleans after a few wipes and you dont have to wash it out, you just let it dry. i highly recommend it :D

tee-hoa: girl i feel you! you definitely should get (and deserve!) the pro card, being another MAC addict, i can understand the ache it causes in ones checkbook :) i'm glad you like the strobe cream.... gosh i'm itching to go to the MAC store again for the 183 lol :)

anonymous: aww thanks! no i've never had any formal training, and i'm not sure its natural talent since i'm crappy with a paintbrush and i can't draw to save my life. i think it's because i practiced a lot..... you're really sweet, thank you for the support and encouragement!

tonkabeane: i bought mine at nordstroms. only select nordstroms has an armani counter. you can go to armanibeauty.com and buy the powder off there. oh and about the orange, you never know until you try :D i thought i was going to look crazy too hahaha

chloe: yes i do reuse them about 3-4 times depending on how well i clean them. just ensure you take off the glue after wearing them and clean off any makeup that could have gotten stuck.

simply: i agree, it's not worth the hassle! gosh i love sex and the city.... i can't wait til the movie is out! :D

  33. I have dealt with hoanganhcali and they are such a pleasure to deal with.

I hate sellers who "try" and pass off fakes as authentic items! I have been seeing so much fake MAC items in the past 2 days, it's scary.

Love the FOTD as well as the challenge face!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love the eyemakeup but if one was to wear it out then i'd suggesting different lashes and a lighter blush and a sliiiightly lighter red lipcolor. The look is goorgeous though for just taking pictures/halloween/clubbing/dinner/movies type thing.

  35. what do you use to remove liner from the waterline?

  36. stephie! i love all these pretty looks that you do! the second one is way dramatic, but it's so awesome! i just started a new blog, and it's not like a makeup one, just life, i guess but i was wondering if it'd be okay if i could post some of your fotd's (like the eye closeups) onto my blog every now and then ( i wouldnt say it's me of course) but yeah i was just wondering!

  38. Hey Stephie,

Thanks for sharing your knowledge on makeup, it has been very helpful. I have a question regarding the mascara you use, Shiseido lifting. Is it a good for creating long lashes? Because being asian, I am not granted with long luscious lashes and I want to have long lashes without getting extensions and wearing fakes ones.

    Thanks,

    Mai

  41. Hey Stephie,

I just found you on youtube! (looking for makeup tips) and I have been lurking ever since. I love everything that you do and you seem like such a sweet person! I already loved MAC makeup from the start.. but you someone made me love it even more! I just created a blog today.. I really don't know why! but we'll see! just wanted to say that I think you're amazing! (not trying to write you a book) so have a nice night!

  44. stephie! i was just looking through your archive and i really loved the "neutral eyes with a pop of color". the one where the eyeliner was not black. could you do more tutorials that use something other than black eyeliner? it's sooo pretty! just a suggestion, i know you're busy.

  45. That brush set is fake.

    http://www.magimania.de.ms/

Magi ( you might recognize her from Specktra ) has a site, and on it she posted a bunch of fake MAC items being listed on eBay.

Check out her FOTDs! She's got some great ones!

  49. Hey Stephie! Your blog is amazing. I love the videos, it makes it so much better to understand how to properly apply makeup. I was looking at your eye closeups, and I really like how you did the black eyeliner. How long does it last without smearing? When I apply eyeliner, my skin's natural oils always cause it to wear off. Is there a way to make it last without priming with powder all over my skin (and eyelashes)? Right now I use Make Up Forever's waterproof liquid liner, and then a Cover Girl Kohl pencil over it, which helps, but still doesn't last so well. Sorry this is so long winded, but if you could rec some application tips and/or products that would be great :)

  50. hi! what do you think about the shiseido hydro powder eyeshawdow and the shiseido sunblock???

    ReplyDelete
  51. anonymous: yes i am :)

hoamy: i use my MAC Wipes for taking off all my makeup. it's very gentle on my skin and eyes. i don't think i've ever had any adverse reactions while using it.

mai: yes, if you curl your lashes and add the shisiedo mascara base and lifting mascara, they make your lashes look uber long. i love it. i've stopped looking for my HG mascara since i've already found it :)

vintagebluesky: i'll be checking your blog out :) i'm such a blog lover :D

fobby: high five girl <3 :D

dee: i will for sure in the future :)

heather: i love her fotds, i remember her from specktra :) thanks for her link!

anonymous: i'll do it soon, once i get the chance. life has been pretty busy recently...

sophie: yeah it is over the top for the day. on asianbeautyblog.com we had a challenge to use colors we wouldn't normally wear out. i decided to just go all out with it since i was in the moment :) i prolly would never wear out the lips + eyes + cheeks together, but definitely the eyes paired with another combo :)

    anonymous: yes :)

rachel: it lasts about 6 hours or so.... but usually only smears on the outer corners. it will last over the whole lid for most of the day. i don't usually put powder underneath, applying urban decay primer potion does seem to help me with kohl power pencils though they run really easily. fluidline usually stays on me for a long time without a primer.

anonymous: i don't own any shseido eyeshadows, but i have used the 50spf sundblock. i found it a bit heavy though, definitely something i wouldn't use it for a daily moisturizer. i used it during the summer for going out to the beach, but i haven't picked it up since... seems like a waste to me.

  52. Hey Stephie! Off the radar looks fab on you! I don't rock orange very well lol. Hope you're doing well. Can't wait to see more of your vids on youtube, you've got some good tutorials. =) Well take care and ttyl.

  53. Stephie,

The "Panacea" on eBay isn't a SELLER, the last activity by that person was back in '99. But I found a user "Panacea81" on eBay that also does tutorials on YouTube. I'm thinking that it's Panacea81 but she doesn't sell a large variety of MAC products and her tutorials are REALLY fast (makes me think she purposely accelerate her videos).

    ReplyDelete
  54. The sunrise-ish look looks amazing on you! You can definatly pull off any look lol, & the orange pigment looks great on you [forget what its called]
Anyways, That brush set is definatly fake, So many people sell fake MAC on eBay, So it was great of you to get the msg across to first time MAC buyers, I think everyone goes through the phase of wanting cheaper MAC when you just start out but, It's much better just to save your pennies and buy FROM MAC, That way you KNOW your getting good quality.

Anyways sweety, Have a good night!

  55. I went MAC crazy the past few days! haha. (everything you basically have already) but, I just wanted to say thanks for commenting back : ).

    ReplyDelete
  56. asianshell: oh i meant panacea81... i just forgot her whole name :) i remember watching her video on selling brushes or pigment samples. i think she speeds them up because she tries to get it into the 10 minute frame on youtube... i love her accent :D

  57. Random question: What perfume do you wear? I know that sounds stupid but I've been trying to look for a new perfume and idk you look like you smell good! Hehe sorry that was...weird. =/ Also I was wondering if you can make a tutorial(whenever you can I'm in no rush)kinda with icey/cool/silvery(basically winter) colors, like creams and blues. I think that'd look fab and you of all people could pull that off. I just haven't seen those colors done before(or properly!) and you seem like your always up for something new. =) Basically really light airy wintery colors with silverr would be gorgeous. =D
