Hi y'all! I have been an avid Kiehl's fan for almost 8 years so when they reached out to invite me to the launch of Apothecary Preparations, I was BEYOND excited. I love their products plus anything personalized.... you can count me in (accountant count me in). I visited the Dallas Highland Park Village Kiehl's store to get a peek at the Apothecary Preparations and my very own consultation.
What I'm Wearing:
H&M Stripe Blouse [similar] | LOFT Skinny Jeans [similar] | HRH Collection Angel Wing Lariat | Rebecca Minkoff Vintage Pink Love Crossbody | Kenneth Cole Wendy Mule | MAC Soar Lip Liner + MAC Modesty Lipstick
They tested the percentage of water in my skin to determine if it was dehydrated and the oil levels. I learned that the ideal percentage would be 50% while my skin at the time was 30% so I was dealing with some dehydration. I could feel it as well since my lips were chapped AF but thank goodness for my lipstick. They showed me this serum that I've already placed an order for. Once I try it out more, I'll definitely share my thoughts. The oil levels weren't too bad but I had also baked my face like Cake Boss soooooo minimal oil :P
My consultant, Mario, was SO helpful and friendly. Just sitting with him for 30 mins, I had more understanding about my skin and got clarification on so many of my skincare questions. He walked me through a test to determine my top two skin concerns. Their targeted complexes address texture, wrinkles/fine lines, redness, pore minimizing and brightening. My top concern was pore minimizing with wrinkles/fine lines and brightening tying for second. Since I already own, use and swear by their Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, we went with wrinkles/fine lines and pore minimizing targeted complexes. Mixing more than two would reduce the efficacy of the solutions. The base of the serum is a skin strengthening concentrate and you add in the two complexes to make your own serum. If you want to learn more about the personalized facial concentrate and locations near you, you can read up on it here.
We tried a bit of the serum on my wrist to make sure I didn't have any reactions (I didn't) and I love how silky the serum is plus just a few drops covers my entire face. Since the wrinkle/fine line concentrate contains retinol and pro-retinol, it's best used at night and now I use my Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution in the morning.
I was so surprised and grateful that they gave me my own bottle of my personalized facial concentrate. They also kindly gave me the Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil, Breakout Control Acne Treatment Facial Lotion and Breakout Control Targeted Acne Spot Treatment. I have had the cleansing oil on my wishlist and it makes my skin so soft. I wish I had bought it sooner!
Are any of y'all Kiehl's fans and if so, what are your favorite products? Once I have used my new products for a bit, I plan on doing a skincare routine post. Let me know if you are interested in it :)
This post is not sponsored. I have been a Kiehl's fan for years and truly enjoyed my experience so wanted to share :)
